Holy Cow, It's May!

Actually, for my smarty pants seniors, they won't have finals but for the rest of you - may the Starbucks be triple and the curve be ever in your favor.

In all seriousness, how in the heck is it May already?  My kids have less than a month of school (really only about 2 weeks since they are exempt from exams) and I'm wrapping up my school year.  Five observations for this Friday:

1.  In just over 3 weeks there will be graduation ceremonies and then graduation parties.

2.  There will be trips for orientation and planning trips to visit kids (and why the heck doesn't Southwest book November thru January until after May 14???).

3.  My kids will be moving away from home.

4. When someone told me Senior year goes by in a flash, I didn't believe them.  Maybe that was because we were in the throws of an endless winter or something, but still.  Dang, it really has flown by!

5. My goals for the next 4 months?  Try to stay sane and drink all the Starbucks.  Somehow also getting back into my skinny jeans (I'm down 5 pounds so it's a start!). Anyone want to buy me a coffee, or better yet, a beer?

Friday 5: #rnrchi indecisiveness

This weekend's 18 mile long run will be done in conjunction with the Rock n Roll Chicago Half Marathon. I've never done a Rock n Roll race so I'm really excited for that piece.
The other 5 miles?  Not so much.

The past couple days have been punctuated by indecisiveness.  It's kind of gone like this..

1.  It's going to be hot so I'm going to wear my usual Athleta running skort.

2.  Every time I wear those skorts I chafe in some nasty areas, so I guess I'll wear capris and suck it up in the heat.

3. If I wear capris, that means I get to sparkle!
Pretty sure this is flat Bari - ignore the unmade bed.
4.  Should I run with music or just have fun with the on-course entertainment?

5. Who am I kidding? I'm not running 18 miles without music.  I even figured out a way to wear my shuffle that doesn't bother me or make my headphones fall out!
Ignore the sweaty post-run nastiness.  Note to self-don't forget the sunscreen.

5 for Friday: Pinterest Workouts

If you are anything like me, you probably get bored with the same old workouts.  Or you just have no freaking idea what to do when your PT says - "focus on stretching your hips".  Um...ok??

Here are a few workouts I've pinned and have been putting into my plan when I don't know what else to do.

1. The yoga hip sequence I tried yesterday.
