Fitness Friday: ban the chafe!

As Michigan warms up, the ability to hide my legs in capris or tights diminishes. I've been on the hunt for some decent running shorts & finding ones that cover enough of the thunder thighs is tough, yo! I settled on a pair of Under Armour compression shorts with a 7" inseam. Remember, I'm only 5'2" so you'd think a 7" inseam would be fine. NOPE! I had horrible chafing on my inner thigh from a seam on the shorts & my thighs rubbing together. Body glide has never worked for me so I sent out pleas on twitter & started asking Mr. Google. I came across a blog that recommended this product.




Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel
Yes, Monistat - makers of yeast infection cream. Now, this wasn't a running blog & I was skeptical, but also desperate. I found it at my local Walgreens for about $9 and figured what the heck.
I have to say, I'm really impressed! This stuff is a gel but then dries to a powder. It feels super silky & soft on the skin. Not sticky at all (which is one of my main complaints with Body Glide & Vaseline). I went on a 2 mile run when I got home last night & had zero new chafing!!
The real test will be my 10 mile run Saturday, but I'm cautiously optimistic :)
