LLRB 365: 2011 Week 30

This week just ROCKED.  Probably because a good portion of it was spent with Kirsten out in Nevada! Because it was such a great week, I had a hard time selecting pictures, so for some days, you get more than one.  Hey, it's my blog, I can do what I want :-)

Monday
7-25-11
Dropped the wonder twins off for a week at band camp - they got to be college students for the week!

Tuesday
7-26-11
Kirsten picked me up from the airport and the first stop was Lake Tahoe.  (Yes, it's as cold as everyone says it is - brrr.)

Wednesday
7-27-11
We went on a short hike in the Sierra Nevada's, climbing from 4900 to 5250 feet per my GPS.

I also registered for a little 1/2 Marathon while I was staying with Kirsten - The Disneyland Inaugural (I puffy-heart love that!) Tinker Bell Half Marathon!

Thursday
7-28-11
Today was a great day.  Kirsten and I drove to Sacramento, CA where we met up with Beki (who had just finished taking the bar exam!!!) and Ashley for dinner at The Melting Pot.

Friday
7-29-11
I had to fly home.  So sad, but before I left, Kirsten and I went for an 8 mile run. I ran at 4700' elevation for the first time, in dry heat.  A totally different experience than the 600' and humid heat to which I'm accustomed.  I was treated to a beautiful sunset over Lake Michigan on the way home, but it didn't make leaving any easier.

That edge you see is Wisconsin.
Saturday
7-30-11

We headed up to Central Michigan University (my alma mater - Fire Up Chips!) to watch the kids' marching band show and haul their tired butts back home.
It's amazing how much they learn in just a week!
Two tired kiddos - this was less than 15 min after leaving campus.

Sunday
7-31-11
Since I missed my Saturday long run because we were on the road, I added in a 6 mile run today - with my new Garmin!!! Happy early birthday to me :)
BTW - I ran 89 miles during the month of July - my highest monthly total EVER!

Yes, my wrist is THAT tiny - I had to buy the velcro replacement strap so it would fit.

So, tomorrow is August 1st.  That means we have only 1 month of summer left.  What do you plan on cramming into the next 4 weeks?
